Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger, Vitinha has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury in PSG's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid last week.

The Brazilian international was substituted off at half-time during PSG's 1-0 defeat to Diego Simeone's side, but the severity of his injury meant he could not continue. Vitinha is expected to be sidelined for three months with a high probability of returning to action later this year.

Vitinha joined PSG from Benfica in January 2020, making 17 appearances across all competitions for the French giants. The 25-year-old was instrumental in PSG's success throughout the 2019-20 campaign, scoring six goals and providing four assists in all competitions.

The loss of Vitinha is a significant blow for PSG as they look to defend their Ligue 1 title and progress further in Europe. The club will now have to find a replacement for the versatile attacker,Ligue 1 Express who brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the team.

In the meantime, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to rely on other wing-backs such as Layvin Kurzawa and Marco Verratti to cover for Vitinha's absence. The Argentine coach will also need to ensure that his squad remains fit and healthy, as the injuries sustained by key players can have a significant impact on a team's performance.

Despite the setback, Paris Saint-Germain remain one of the top teams in European football and will be hoping to bounce back from this latest injury blow soon. With Vitinha set to miss the remainder of the season, the club will have to focus on finding solutions to replace him and ensuring that their squad continues to perform at its best.
