Vinícius' playing time for Flamengo during 2018-2019 season

Vinícius was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 26th, 1995. He started his professional career with Santos FC, where he made his debut in August 2017 at just 22 years old. In his first season with Santos, Vinícius made 30 appearances and scored four goals. The following season, he continued to impress, making 34 appearances and scoring seven goals.

In January 2018, Vinícius joined Flamengo, a team that had won the Copa Libertadores in 2017. At Flamengo, Vinícius continued to be a key player,Campeonato Brasileiro Action making 36 appearances and scoring eight goals. His performances caught the attention of many clubs in Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

In June 2018, it was announced that Vinícius would join Chelsea on loan until the end of the season. He made six appearances for Chelsea before returning to Flamengo. However, in January 2019, he signed a permanent transfer from Flamengo to Chelsea, becoming the first Brazilian player to sign for a European club.

At Chelsea, Vinícius quickly established himself as a regular starter, making 30 appearances and scoring five goals in all competitions. His performances earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year award, which is given annually to the best young player in England.
