Update on Gabriel Barbosa for Flamengo (Injury)

Gabriel Barbosa is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury during training with Flamengo.

The forward was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital following an incident in training that saw him land awkwardly on his left knee.

Barbosa, who joined Flamengo from Corinthians last summer, has been a key player for the club this season, scoring five goals in 14 league appearances.

However, he will be out of action until at least the end of January,Football Events Station leaving the team short in attack ahead of their upcoming matches against Cruzeiro and Santos.

Flamengo have confirmed that they will be without Barbosa for the remainder of the campaign, but hope that he will be able to return to full fitness in time for next season's campaign.

The Brazilian international has made a strong impact since joining Flamengo, helping them to secure a top-three finish in the Campeonato Brasileiro this year.
